Yoga Fitness
Perfect For:
Those who want a fun workout mixed with yoga asana
How it Works:
Freestyle Fitness Yoga is a fitness programme that incorporates Yoga postures, Pilates exercises and deep stretch. It is validated from a fitness perspective and is not a spiritual experience – there is no dogma, chanting or philosophy attached to this workout. It mimics Yoga in its breathing and style offering postures that endorse strength and stability. Fitness Pilates and fitness exercises that target and positively enhance the body’s postural muscles are included in this workout. Students learn how to identify the bodies stabilizing muscles and use them effectively and efficiently to improve their posture and move with more confidence. They can expect to improve their flexibility significantly in 8 weeks. Postures are prescribed from the body’s natural anatomical perspective using the language of fitness. We do not use Yoga names and references. Extreme postures that exceed optimal ranges of motion generally are avoided. Neither do we prescribe any exercises, posture or movement for the internal organs or for the benefit of disease. During FFY moves and postures can be sequenced together to the beat of the music -making transitions seamless and graceful.
Power Vinyasa
Perfect For:
Those who want to combine the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of yoga with high-intensity, calorie-burning exercise.
How it Works:
Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements. This type of yoga is taught in a heated studio which makes it a vigorous and revitalizing form of physical fitness.
Benefits:
Vinyasa Flow helps build and maintain strong bones, muscles and connective tissue to maintain a high metabolism, healthy posture, and an active and alive body. This work will burn more calories, improve body/mind awareness, enhance movement pathways in the body to enhance agility, mobility and “grace in motion.”
Yin Yoga
Perfect For:
Perfect for people who want to destress, relinquish control and let go.
How it Works:
Yin Yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. This blocks the flow of nutrients and energy through the body, causing pain and limiting mobility.
Benefits:
For a healthy range of motion, layers of connective tissue must allow muscles to glide over each other. But injury, habitual posture in daily life, and ageing, among other factors, can bind these connective tissues together, creating so-called adhesions and restricting the movement between the sliding surfaces of the muscles. Like a traffic jam, adhesions block the flow of nutrients and energy through the body, causing pain and limiting mobility. Holding poses that gently lengthen the muscles and fascia helps break up adhesions and applying mild stress to joints and connective tissues can increase their range of motion.
